Welcome to the Esk District Co-op Website The Esk District Co-op is a community owned, retail co-operative, operating in the Brisbane Valley townships of Esk and Toogoolawah. The current operations consist of an IGA food market and a Thrifty-Link hardware store in both townships. The 1500 shareholders who collectively own the Co-op reside in the Brisbane Valley and shop in the Co-op’s stores. The Esk District Co-op has a long and proud tradition of serving the community of the Brisbane Valley, beginning over 100 years ago with the Esk Butter Factory and Store in 1906. The Co-op has a long history of supporting community organisations, sporting clubs and other businesses in the Brisbane Valley and we plan to maintain this role in the community. The new hardware store in Esk has been judged the Store of the Year at the 2006 Hardware Association of Queensland Awards, a great reward for the Directors, Management and Staff and a real vindication of their efforts in getting the store up and running. Further improvement of the Co-op’s operations is planned, with a major focus being a new supermarket for the Esk township. The Staff of the Esk District Co-op look forward to serving you when you next visit our stores. |
